The daily Hukamnama Sahib from Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar including translation in English and Punjabi audio ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਠਾਢਿ ਪਾਈ ਕਰਤਾਰੇ ॥ ਤਾਪੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਗਇਆ ਪਰਵਾਰੇ ॥ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹੈ ਰਾਖੀ ॥ ਸਰਣਿ ਸਚੇ ਕੀ ਤਾਕੀ ॥੧॥ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਆਪਿ ਹੋਆ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ॥ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਉਪਜੇ ਮਨੁ ਹੋਆ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਾਲਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਓ ਦਾਰੂ ॥ ਤਿਨਿ ਸਗਲਾ ਰੋਗੁ ਬਿਦਾਰੂ ॥ ਅਪਣੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਤਿਨਿ ਸਗਲੀ ਬਾਤ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥੨॥ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪਨਾ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਸਮਾਰਿਆ ॥ ਹਮਰਾ ਗੁਣੁ ਅਵਗੁਣੁ ਨ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਆ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਭਇਓ ਸਾਖੀ ॥ ਤਿਨਿ ਸਗਲੀ ਲਾਜ ਰਾਖੀ ॥੩॥ ਬੋਲਾਇਆ ਬੋਲੀ ਤੇਰਾ ॥ ਤੂ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਗੁਣੀ ਗਹੇਰਾ ॥ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਖੀ ॥ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਦਾਸ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਰਾਖੀ ॥੪॥੬॥੫੬॥  ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸੁਖੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਇਕ ਛਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਸੁਖ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।ਰਹਾਉ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ ਠੰਡ ਵਰਤਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ) ਤਾਪ ਛੱਡ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਤੱਕ ਲਿਆ।੧। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਵਿਕਾਰ-ਰੋਗਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਲਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਦਵਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਉਸ ਨਾਮ-ਦਾਰੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਹੀ (ਵਿਕਾਰ-) ਰੋਗ ਕੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਕਹਾਣੀ ਹੀ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਬਣਾ ਲਈ (ਆਪਣਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੰਵਾਰ ਲਿਆ) ।੨। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਸਦਾ ਹੀ) ਆਪਣੇ ਮੁੱਢ-ਕਦੀਮਾਂ ਦੇ (ਪਿਆਰ ਵਾਲੇ) ਸੁਭਾਵ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸਾਡਾ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਣ ਜਾਂ ਔਗੁਣ ਦਿਲ ਤੇ ਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਦਾ। (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਪਾਇਆ, ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖ ਲਈ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਢਹੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ) ।੩। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਡਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਡੂੰਘੇ ਜਿਗਰੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ। ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ, ਇਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਹਾਮੀ ਭਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ (ਸਦਾ) ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ।੪।੬।੫੬।  SORAT’H, FIFTH MEHL:  The Creator has brought utter peace to my home; the fever has left my family. The Perfect Guru has saved us. I sought the Sanctuary of the True Lord. || 1 || The Transcendent Lord Himself has become my Protector. Tranquility, intuitive peace and poise welled up in an instant, and my mind was comforted forever. || Pause || The Lord, Har, Har, gave me the medicine of His Name, which has cured all disease. He extended His Mercy to me, and resolved all these affairs. || 2 || God confirmed His loving nature; He did not take my merits or demerits into account. The Word of the Guru’s Shabad has become manifest, and through it, my honor was totally preserved. || 3 || I speak as You cause me to speak; O Lord and Master, You are the ocean of excellence. Nanak chants the Naam, the Name of the Lord, according to the Teachings of Truth. God preserves the honor of His slaves. || 4 || 6 || 56 ||

The daily Hukamnama Sahib from Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar including translation in English and Punjabi audio ਰਾਮਕਲੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਬੀਜ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਉ ॥ ਆਗੈ ਮਿਲੀ ਨਿਥਾਵੇ ਥਾਉ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੁ ॥ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕਾ ਸੋਇਆ ਜਾਗੁ ॥੧॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਪੁ ਜਪਲਾ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਵਾਸੈ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਮਨ ਅਟਲ ॥ ਤਾ ਛੂਟਹਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੇ ਪਟਲ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਉ ॥ ਤਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥ ਸੋਧਤ ਸੋਧਤ ਸੋਧਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ॥ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਭਜਨੁ ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਰਾਪੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੩॥ ਛੋਡਿ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਬਹੁ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ॥ ਮਨ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਵੈ ਜਾਇ ਨ ਕਾਈ ॥ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰੀ ਗੋਵਿਦ ਗਸਾਈ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਟੇਕ ਟਿਕਾਈ ॥੪॥੧੬॥੨੭॥   ਅਰਥ: (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਨਾਮ) ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਜਪਿਆ, (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ) ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਗਿਆ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ (ਦਾ ਗੀਤ) ਗਾਇਆ ਕਰੋ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਸ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ) ਇਹ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਹੈ। (ਕੀਰਤਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਆਸਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਪਿਆ ਰਹੁ, ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਈ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ) ਨੀਂਦ ਵਿਚ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਤੂੰ ਜਾਗ ਪਏਂਗਾ।੧। ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਕਦੇ ਨਾਹ ਮੁੱਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ, ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਮਾਇਆ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਦੇ ਪੜਦੇ ਪਾਟਣਗੇ। ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਰਸ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਰਹੁ, ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।੨। ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਅਸਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਸਿੱਟਾ ਕੱਢਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ) ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਉਹ ਭਗਤੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਮਨ ਅਤੇ ਤਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੩। ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਆਪਣੀ) ਸਿਆਣਪ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤੀ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਛੱਡ ਦੇ। (ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਭੁਇਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਜੀਊਰਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਅਸਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ) , ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਇਹ ਜਾਲਾ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਖਸਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੪।੧੬।੧੭।  RAAMKALEE, FIFTH MEHL:  Sing the Kirtan of the Lord’s Praises, and the Beej Mantra, the Seed Mantra. Even the homeless find a home in the world hereafter. Fall at the feet of the Perfect Guru; you have slept for so many incarnations — wake up! || 1 || Chant the Chant of the Lord’s Name, Har, Har. By Guru’s Grace, it shall be enshrined within your heart, and you shall cross over the terrifying world-ocean. || 1 || Pause || Meditate on the eternal treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, O mind, and then, the screen of Maya shall be torn away. Drink in the Ambrosial Nectar of the Guru’s Shabad, and then your soul shall be rendered immaculate and pure. || 2 || Searching, searching, searching, I have realized that without devotional worship of the Lord, no one is saved. So vibrate, and meditate on that Lord in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy; your mind and body shall be imbued with love for the Lord. || 3 || Renounce all your cleverness and trickery. O mind, without the Lord’s Name, there is no place of rest. The Lord of the Universe, the Lord of the World, has taken pity on me. Nanak seeks the protection and support of the Lord, Har, Har. || 4 || 16 || 27 ||

 ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਘਰੁ ੨ ਦੁਪਦੇ    ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ਸਗਲ ਬਨਸਪਤਿ ਮਹਿ ਬੈਸੰਤਰੁ ਸਗਲ ਦੂਧ ਮਹਿ ਘੀਆ ॥ ਊਚ ਨੀਚ ਮਹਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਮਾਧਉ ਜੀਆ ॥੧॥ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਹਿਓ ॥ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਰਬ ਮਹਿ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਰਮਈਆ ਆਹਿਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਵੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਭਰਮੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਓ ॥ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਸਦਾ ਅਲੇਪਾ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇਓ ॥੨॥੧॥੨੯॥

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਰਾਮ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸਭ ਬੂਟਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਅੱਗ (ਗੁਪਤ ਮੌਜੂਦ) ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ ਘਿਉ (ਮੱਖਣ) ਗੁਪਤ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਚੰਗੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ।੧।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਨਾਨਕ (ਉਸ) ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ) ਭੁਲੇਖਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ (ਤਾਂਹੀਏਂ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ (ਫਿਰ ਭੀ) ਸਦਾ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ) ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਮਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।੨।੧।੨੯।

Fire is contained in all firewood, and butter is contained in all milk. God’s Light is contained in the high and the low; the Lord is in the hearts of all beings. || 1 || O Saints, He is pervading and permeating each and every heart. The Perfect Lord is completely permeating everyone, everywhere; He is diffused in the water and the land. || 1 || Pause || Nanak sings the Praises of the Lord, the treasure of excellence; the True Guru has dispelled his doubt. The Lord is pervading everywhere, permeating all, and yet, He is unattached from all. || 2 || 1 || 29 ||

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਹੀ ਹੋਰ ॥ ਮਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਚੰਦ ਚਕੋਰ ॥ ਜਿਉ ਮੀਨ ਜਲ ਸਿਉ ਹੇਤੁ ॥ ਅਲਿ ਕਮਲ ਭਿੰਨੁ ਨ ਭੇਤੁ ॥ ਜਿਉ ਚਕਵੀ ਸੂਰਜ ਆਸ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਚਰਨ ਪਿਆਸ ॥੬॥

ਜਿਉ ਤਰੁਨਿ ਭਰਤ ਪਰਾਨ ॥ ਜਿਉ ਲੋਭੀਐ ਧਨੁ ਦਾਨੁ ॥ ਜਿਉ ਦੂਧ ਜਲਹਿ ਸੰਜੋਗੁ ॥ ਜਿਉ ਮਹਾ ਖੁਧਿਆਰਥ ਭੋਗੁ ॥ ਜਿਉ ਮਾਤ ਪੂਤਹਿ ਹੇਤੁ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇਤ ॥੭॥ ਜਿਉ ਦੀਪ ਪਤਨ ਪਤੰਗ ॥ ਜਿਉ ਚੋਰੁ ਹਿਰਤ ਨਿਸੰਗ ॥ ਮੈਗਲਹਿ ਕਾਮੈ ਬੰਧੁ ॥ ਜਿਉ ਗ੍ਰਸਤ ਬਿਖਈ ਧੰਧੁ ॥ ਜਿਉ ਜੂਆਰ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਇ ॥੮॥ 

ਕੁਰੰਕ ਨਾਦੈ ਨੇਹੁ ॥ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕੁ ਚਾਹਤ ਮੇਹੁ ॥ ਜਨ ਜੀਵਨਾ ਸਤਸੰਗਿ ॥ ਗੋਬਿਦੁ ਭਜਨਾ ਰੰਗਿ ॥ ਰਸਨਾ ਬਖਾਨੈ ਨਾਮੁ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਸਨ ਦਾਨੁ ॥੯॥ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ਸੁਨਿ ਲਿਖਿ ਦੇਇ ॥ ਸੋ ਸਰਬ ਫਲ ਹਰਿ ਲੇਇ ॥ ਕੁਲ ਸਮੂਹ ਕਰਤ ਉਧਾਰੁ ॥ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਉਤਰਸਿ ਪਾਰਿ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਬੋਹਿਥ ਤਾਹਿ ॥ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਹਿ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਪੈਜ ਰਖੈ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਨਿ ਦੁਆਰਿ ॥੧੦॥੨॥

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਗ਼ਰੀਬਾਂ ਦੇ ਖਸਮ! ਹੇ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਸੋਮੇ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਹੇ ਦੀਨਾ ਨਾਥ! ਹੇ ਦਇਆਲ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ (ਅਤੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ-) ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰਾ) ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ (ਦਾ ਗੇੜ) ਮੁਕਾ ਦੇਹ, ਮੈਂ (ਹੋਰ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਆਸ ਲਾਹ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਆ ਡਿੱਗਾ ਹਾਂ। (ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ) ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਫੜ ਕੇ (ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦਾ) ਪੱਲਾ ਫੜ ਕੇ, ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ, ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਰਹੇ। ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੜ ਨਾਲ ਲਾ ਲੈ।੧।

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰ, ਤੇ, ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ (ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ) ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਆਸਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼। ਇਹ ਜਗਤ ਮਾਇਆ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਦਾ ਖੂਹ ਹੈ, ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਲੋਂ ਬੇ-ਸਮਝੀ ਦਾ ਘੁੱਪ ਹਨੇਰਾ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਮੋਹ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। (ਮੇਰੀ) ਬਾਂਹ ਫੜ ਕੇ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ।੨।

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ। ਮੇਰਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਲੋਭ ਵਿਚ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਬੱਝਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਤੇਰਾ) ਭਜਨ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਜਮਦੂਤ ਬੜੇ ਡਰਾਉਣੇ (ਲੱਗ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਚਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਗੁਪਤ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਕਰਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ। ਦਿਨ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਤ (ਇਹ ਭੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੀ) ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦੇ ਕੇ (ਇਹੀ ਕਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਮੰਦ-ਕਰਮੀ ਹਾਂ) ।੩।

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਵਿਕਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ। ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਗਿਣੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ। ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਭੀ ਇਹ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ। ਹੇ ਨਾਥ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੀ ਸੋਚਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਮੇਰੀ ਬਾਂਹ) ਫੜ ਲੈ, (ਆਪਣਾ) ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ।੪।

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ! ਹੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਰੱਖਿਅਕ! ਹੇ ਸਭ ਸਰੀਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ! ਹੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ! ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ) ਆਸ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰ, (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਤੇਰੀ) ਪ੍ਰੀਤ (ਬਣੀ ਰਹੇ, ਤੇਰੇ) ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ (ਬਣੀ ਰਹੇ, ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੈਥੋਂ) ਇਕ ਪਲ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਰਿਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਕੋਈ (ਤੇਰਾ) ਮਿਲਾਪ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।੫।

 ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਮੇਰਾ ਕੋਈ) ਹੋਰ (ਆਸਰਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ) ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਹੈ (ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਚਕੋਰ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮਛਲੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੈ, (ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਭੌਰ ਦਾ ਕੌਲ ਫੁੱਲ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦਾ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਚਕਵੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੂਰਜ (ਦੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਨ) ਦੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਲੱਗੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ) ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਹੈ।੬।

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਭਾਈ) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜੁਆਨ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣਾ) ਖਸਮ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਲਾਲਚੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਧਨ-ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ (ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ) , ਜਿਵੇਂ ਦੁੱਧ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਭੁੱਖੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੋਜਨ (ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ) , ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ (ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ) ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ।੭।

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿਵੇਂ (ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੇ ਬੱਝੇ) ਭੰਬਟ ਦੀਵੇ ਉਤੇ ਡਿੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਚੋਰ ਝਾਕਾ ਲਾਹ ਕੇ ਚੋਰੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹਾਥੀ ਦਾ ਕਾਮ-ਵਾਸਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ (ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦਾ) ਧੰਧਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਸੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜੁਆਰੀਏ ਦੀ (ਜੂਆ ਖੇਡਣ ਦੀ) ਭੈੜੀ ਆਦਤ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਤਿਵੇਂ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਇਸ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ) ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖੀਂ।੮।

 ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹਰਨ ਦਾ ਘੰਡੇਹੇੜੇ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਪੀਹਾ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਮੀਂਹ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਸੇਵਕ ਦਾ (ਸੁਖੀ) ਜੀਵ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ) ਹੈ, ਸੇਵਕ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਨਾਮ) ਨੂੰ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਆਪਣੀ) ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ) ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ (ਮੰਗਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ।੯।

ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਕੇ, ਸੁਣ ਕੇ, ਲਿਖ ਕੇ (ਇਹ ਦਾਤਿ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ) ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਰੇ ਫਲ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਆਪਣੀਆਂ) ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੁਲਾਂ ਦਾ (ਹੀ) ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰਾ ਕਰਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾਣ ਲਈ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਜਹਾਜ਼ (ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਦੇਂਦੇ) ਹਨ। ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।੧੦।੨।

BILAAVAL, FIFTH MEHL:

God, please release me from birth and death. I have grown weary, and collapsed at Your door. I grasp Your Feet, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. The Love of the Lord, Har, Har, is sweet to my mind. Be Merciful, and attach me to the hem of Your robe. Nanak meditates on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. || 1 || O Merciful Master of the meek, You are my Lord and Master, O Merciful Master of the meek. I yearn for the dust of the feet of the Saints.|| 1 || Pause || The world is a pit of poison, filled with the utter darkness of ignorance and emotional attachment. Please take my hand, and save me, Dear God. Please bless me with Your Name, Lord. Without You, God, I have no place at all. Nanak is a sacrifice, a sacrifice to You. || 2 || The human body is in the grip of greed and attachment. Without meditating and vibrating upon the Lord, it is reduced to ashes. The Messenger of Death is dreadful and horrible. The recording scribes of the conscious and the unconscious, Chitr and Gupt, know all actions and karma. Day and night, they bear witness. Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of the Lord. || 3 || O Lord, Destroyer of fear and egotism, be merciful, and save the sinners. My sins cannot even be counted. Without the Lord, who can hide them? I thought of Your Support, and seized it, O my Lord and Master. Please, give Nanak Your hand and save him, Lord! || 4 || The Lord, the treasure of virtue, the Lord of the world, cherishes and and sustains every heart. My mind is thirsty for Your Love, and the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. O Lord of the Universe, please fulfill my hopes. I cannot survive, even for an instant. By great good fortune, Nanak has found the Lord. || 5 || Without You, God, there is no other at all. My mind loves You, as the partridge loves the moon, as the fish loves the water, as the bee and the lotus cannot be separated. As the chakvi bird longs for the sun, so does Nanak thirst for the Lord’s feet. || 6 || As the young bride places the hopes of her life in her husband, as the greedy person looks upon the gift of wealth, as milk is joined to water, as food is to the very hungry man, and as the mother loves her son, so does Nanak constantly remember the Lord in meditation. || 7 || As the moth falls into the lamp, as the thief steals without hesitation, as the elephant is trapped by its sexual urges, as the sinner is caught in his sins, as the gambler’s addiction does not leave him, so is this mind of Nanak’s attached to the Lord. || 8 || As the deer loves the sound of the bell, and as the song-bird longs for the rain, the Lord’s humble servant lives in the Society of the Saints, lovingly meditating and vibrating upon the Lord of the Universe. My tongue chants the Naam, the Name of the Lord. Please bless Nanak with the gift of the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. || 9 || One who sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and hears them, and writes them, receives all fruits and rewards from the Lord. He saves all his ancestors and generations, and crosses over the world-ocean. The Lord’s Feet are the boat to carry him across. Joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, he sings the Praises of the Lord. The Lord protects his honor. Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of the Lord’s door. || 10 || 2 ||

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਰਾਖਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੂੰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। (ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਤਾਣ ਹੈ, (ਸਾਡੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਰਹੁ।੧।

ਹੇ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਅਥਾਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੇ ਤੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।੨।

ਹੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ! ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ! ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਸਰੂਪ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ! ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।੩।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰ, ਮੈਂ (ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ।੪।੨।

TILANG, SECOND HOUSE, FIFTH MEHL:

There is no other than You, Lord. You are the Creator; whatever You do, that alone happens. You are the strength, and You are the support of the mind. Forever and ever, meditate, O Nanak, on the One. || 1 || The Great Giver is the Supreme Lord God over all. You are our support, You are our sustainer. || Pause || You are, You are, and You shall ever be, O inaccessible, unfathomable, lofty and infinite Lord. Those who serve You, are not touched by fear or suffering. By Guru’s Grace, O Nanak, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. || 2 || Whatever is seen, is Your form, O treasure of virtue, O Lord of the Universe, O Lord of incomparable beauty. Remembering, remembering, remembering the Lord in meditation, His humble servant becomes like Him. O Nanak, by His Grace, we obtain Him. || 3 || I am a sacrifice to those who meditate on the Lord. Associating with them, the whole world is saved. Says Nanak, God fulfills our hopes and aspirations. I long for the dust of the feet of the Saints. || 4 || 2 ||
